To stop the planning application ref P2024/0369

The Issue

We the residents of Efail Fach partition the council to stop the planning application ref P2024/0369 proposing to change a dwelling phase (class C3) to a residential care home (class C2) for up to four children. We have been provided with very little information as to what it would involve having a care home for children, teenagers and young adults in our village. The proposed site is right opposite a respectable public house. Hardly a suitable site.

Parking in Efail Fach is already a major problem. There is not enough parking for the residents of Efail Fach without the added extra parking that would be needed. In our opinion there is not enough private parking in the driveway of 23 Efail Fach. We are concerned about the devaluation of our homes, which has happened in other places with the opening of a children’s home.

People with young families are also concerned about the impact this development would have on their family. There are concerns about crime rate increasing in the village with a higher level of police involvement. Attacks on staff members, antisocial behaviour, theft, vandalism, absconding the home and more alarmingly county lines where children are coerced to sell drugs by gangs are to name a few. The government, police, councils, OFSTED and other relevant authorities are all aware of these problems but not sufficiently addressed.
