The issue

To Community Work Australia (CWA),

We, the Bachelor of Community Services students of Acknowledge Education, respectfully submit this petition regarding the recent suspension of the CWA accreditation of our course.

Many of us enrolled in this degree specifically because it was promoted as a CWA-accredited qualification. This accreditation was one of the main reasons we chose Acknowledge Education and invested significant time, effort, and financial resources into completing this degree.

We are deeply distressed and concerned about the sudden announcement of the suspension. Until very recently, students who contacted the college regarding rumours about the accreditation were informed that the accreditation was still active. However, today we received an official email stating that the accreditation has been suspended.

This situation has caused fear, confusion, stress, and uncertainty among the entire student body. Many students are now worried about:

Future employment opportunities

Skills assessment and migration pathways

Professional recognition after graduation

The value of the degree we have worked hard and paid for

The impact on students who are close to graduation or have recently completed the course

International students are especially affected, as many planned their future careers, visas, and long-term goals based on graduating from a CWA-accredited qualification.

We understand that accreditation processes involve standards and reviews. However, we respectfully ask Community Work Australia to reconsider this decision or provide affected students with clear guidance and support regarding:

How current students will be affected

Whether transitional arrangements can be considered

Whether graduating students can still receive recognition

The steps required for reinstatement

The expected timeframe for any review process

As students, we entered this course in good faith, trusting the accreditation status presented to us at the time of enrolment. Many of us have completed placements, assessments, and years of study with the understanding that this accreditation formed part of our professional pathway.

We sincerely ask Community Work Australia to consider the significant impact this decision has had on the Bachelor of Community Services students of Acknowledge Education and to provide transparency, support, and urgent reconsideration for the wellbeing and future of all affected students.

Sincerely,

The Bachelor of Community Services StudentsAcknowledge Education
