Dear Signatories,

We would like to let you know that the open letter and list of signatories have now been formally submitted to OIST senior management.

Between 20 January and 3 February 2026, we collected 115 signatures in just two weeks. We believe this was a considerable feat given the challenging circumstances, and it couldn’t have been accomplished without your support. 

Many of you chose to sign anonymously, using pseudonyms or initials—a decision we fully respect and understand. Signatures were also submitted by current and former members of the OIST community, as well as by individuals from academic and professional circles beyond the university. In the final list shared with the executives, we included only the names and comments you provided, rearranged alphabetically after grouping by writing system. All identifiable names of current OIST affiliates and those who requested anonymity have been redacted.

The letter sets out clear and actionable demands. We have informed OIST leadership that we expect a substantive public response and/or concrete action by the end of February 2026.

このたび、公開書簡および署名者一覧を、OIST役員・幹部に正式に提出しましたのでご報告いたします。

2026年1月20日から2月3日までのわずか2週間で、合計115名の署名が集まりました。困難な状況の中、皆さまのご協力がなければ実現できなかった成果だと感じています。

多くの方が、匿名、仮名、またはイニシャルでの署名を選ばれました。その判断を私たちは十分に理解し、尊重しています。また、OISTの現・元関係者に加え、大学内外の学術・専門分野に携わる方々からも署名が寄せられました。上層部に提出した最終版では、皆さまからご提供いただいたお名前とコメントのみを掲載し、お名前は表記体系ごとに整理したうえで、アルファベット・五十音順に並べています。現時点でOISTに所属していることが特定できるお名前、および匿名での掲載を希望された方のお名前は、すべて伏せています。

本書簡では、具体的で実行可能な要望を明確に示しています。私たちは、2026年2月末までに、OIST側から実質的な公開回答、もしくは具体的な行動が示されることを期待している旨を伝えています。
