Dear supporters,
We are writing with an important and urgent update regarding additional anonymization of the list of signatories. This message is particularly relevant for those who are currently affiliated with OIST or who may otherwise be vulnerable to retaliation. We apologize for the short notice.
At present, 26 signatures are anonymous or clearly use pseudonyms or initials, and 11 signatures use real names that we have been able to identify as belonging to current OISTers. Several supporters have rightly raised concerns about the safety of OISTers who signed the petition using their real names: because many others understandably chose to sign anonymously or under pseudonyms, this has had the unintended effect of making a small number of named OIST-affiliated signatories more visible and potentially more vulnerable than they had anticipated.
To address this concern, we have decided that, in the final list submitted to OIST senior management, the names of all signatories we can identify as being currently affiliated with OIST will be replaced with “*****” unless they explicitly request otherwise. Our aim is to ensure that no one is unexpectedly placed at risk because they chose to sign openly.
⭐️If you are currently affiliated with OIST and wish for your real name to remain visible, please let us know by 10:00 AM on Friday, February 5 (JST). You may contact us by email at anonymousoister@pm.me, or if you know any of the authors personally, let them know in person or by DM, etc. If we do not hear from you by this deadline and we can identify you as being affiliated with OIST, your name will be anonymized by default.
‼️If you are not affiliated with OIST but would also like your name to be anonymized, please let us know by the same deadline.
We will ensure that anonymization is applied consistently, including removal from any visible or invisible text and associated metadata.
We understand that the timeframe is short and sincerely apologize for this.
In parallel, we are also reaching out individually to signatories wherever possible to ensure they are aware of this change.

署名者の皆さまへ
署名者リストの追加的な匿名化について、重要かつ緊急のお知らせのためご連絡いたします。特に、現在OISTに所属している方、もしくは報復を受けるリスクのある方にとって重要な内容です。直前のご案内となり、大変申し訳ありません。
現在、26件の署名が匿名、または明らかに仮名やイニシャルによるものとなっている一方、実名で署名されており、かつOISTへの所属が確認できる方が11名いらっしゃいます。実名で署名されたOIST関係者の安全について、複数の署名者の方から、もっともな懸念が寄せられました。多くの方がやむを得ず匿名や仮名で署名されたため、実名で署名した一部のOIST関係者が思いがけず目立ってしまい、予想以上に脆弱な立場に置かれている、というものです。
この状況を踏まえ、私たちは、OISTの役員・幹部に提出する最終的な署名者リストでは、現在OISTに所属していることが確認できるすべての署名者の名前を、明確な希望がない限り「*****」に置き換えることを決定しました。これは、実名で署名してくださった方が、思いがけず不利益や危険にさらされることがないようにするためです。
⭐️現在OISTに所属している方で、実名をそのまま掲載してほしい場合は、2月5日（金）日本時間午前10:00までに私たちにご連絡ください。anonymousoister@pm.me までメールいただくか、公開書簡作成グループのメンバーと知り合いである場合は個別に対面・DMなどでご連絡いただいても構いません。この期限までにご連絡がなく、かつOIST所属と確認できる場合には、お名前はデフォルトで匿名化されます。
‼️OISTに所属していない方であっても、同様の匿名化を希望される場合は、同じ期限までにお知らせください。
なお、この匿名化は、表示される本文だけでなく、隠れた文字や関連するメタデータも含め、一貫して適用します。
短い期限となってしまったことを心よりお詫び申し上げます。
可能な限り個別にも署名者の方々へご連絡し、この変更について確実にお伝えできるよう努めています。
