To limit HGV traffic and stop the double yellow lines to Bertha and Leybourne street

The Issue

As a concerned resident of  Bertha street, Halliwell, Bolton, UK, I am deeply troubled by the high volume of Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGVs) accessing the mill via Bertha Street and leybourne Street. This issue is personal to me as children play in these areas and parked cars are frequently damaged due to heavy traffic.

The safety of our children should be paramount, yet their lives are put at risk daily due to this excessive HGV traffic. Moreover, residents' vehicles are being damaged regularly which adds unnecessary financial stress on families in our community.

According to data from Transport for Greater Manchester (2019), there has been an increase in HGV traffic across Greater Manchester over recent years. This rise is reflected on our local streets where we have seen a significant increase in HGV movements.

We urge local authorities to take immediate action by implementing measures such as weight restrictions or rerouting plans for these vehicles. By doing so, we can ensure that our streets remain safe for children and free from damage caused by heavy goods vehicles.

This also includes to stop the I production of double yellow lines to both Bertha Street and leybourne Street

Please sign this petition if you believe that the safety of our children and property should be prioritized over industrial convenience.
