My son  is 22 years old and a full time electric wheelchair user   and on the weekends likes  to go out and socialise like any normal 22year old  , however.  He cannot get a taxi home and they don’t seem to have any running ,so his carer has to walk with him from town very early in the morning and this is not safe ! 
Also weather permitting if it’s raining it is not  suitable as he’s in an electric wheelchair ,also he has a neuromuscular wasting condition so ,not good for his heath  at all to get cold or wet 
This is not  acceptable at all any other person can jump in any taxi to get home. Don’t even have to think about it , so he is very restricted whilst out with his friends , they need taxis available on the weekends for wheelchair users.

This petition therefore requests the council to offer discounted licence rates for disabled taxis in Gloucester City and request operators to ensure there is always an accesible/ disabled taxi on shift which gives priority to blue badge disabled customers as well as do all the city council can to encourage more disabled taxis in gloucester
