To change the Child support Laws in Texas

The Issue

We want to change the way that the laws determine what child support payments will be calculated. The current system uses income of the payor as the determining factor. We feel that the most fair way to do this is to use the expenses of the child as the factors involved in deciding how much child support would be. For to long there has been a system where the person that has the children is able to go back and get additional child support even though the expenses of the child have not gone up. This has resulted in the additional child support becoming more of an alimony payment and less of actual support for the child.
