We, the undersigned students of the UWI Global Campus, respectfully request that the University reconsider its decision to introduce mandatory in-person final examinations for current students.

Many of us enrolled in the Global Campus specifically because it provided a flexible and accessible learning environment. For the past six years, students have pursued their degrees with the understanding that assessments would be conducted through the established online model. This flexibility has enabled working professionals, parents, caregivers, persons with disabilities, and students living overseas or far from examination centres to successfully pursue higher education.

While we fully support the University's commitment to maintaining academic integrity, we believe there are more appropriate ways to achieve this objective without fundamentally changing the conditions under which current students are enrolled.

We respectfully request that the University:

1. Allow students to complete their programmes under the examination arrangements that have been consistently implemented throughout their period of enrollment.
2. If additional examination security is required, implement remote online proctoring solutions, such as Respondus, instead of requiring students to travel to designated examination centres.
3. Apply any new assessment policies only to new students, who can make an informed decision before enrolling based on the updated programme requirements.

Changing assessment requirements after students have already invested years of time, effort, and financial resources creates unnecessary hardship and undermines the expectations established at the time of enrolment.

This petition is not a rejection of academic standards. Rather, it is a request for fairness, consistency, and consideration for current students who made their educational decisions based on the Global Campus model that was advertised and implemented when they enrolled.

We respectfully ask the University administration to engage with student representatives and explore solutions that preserve both academic integrity and the flexibility that has been the hallmark of the UWI Global Campus.

Together, we believe a fair and practical solution can be achieved for everyone.
