The Issue

The recent Gender Disparity Data Report compiled by Why Not Her? (whynother.net) Found that over a 6 month period 85% of artists in the top 100 Irish radio airplay charts were male.

This measurement was taken by looking at the top 20 most played songs by Irish artists. Tipp FM was one of the stations included in the report and had no female Irish artists in their top 20 most played songs in the 6 month period that was analysed.

"This Report is based on Irish only artists, and those whose songs are registered on Radiomonitor. Radiomonitor is the industry standard music airplay monitoring service used by all Record labels, Management companies and PR companies to evaluate the airtime allocated to artists/bands who have commercial releases in the Irish market and whose music is issued to Irish radio seeking radio airplay" (Why Not Her Report, 2020)

This petition is to appeal to Tipp FM to add female Irish artists to their playlists. They describe themselves as 'The heartbeat of the community' but they are neglecting the voices of women in the community and this needs to change.
