Dear TIME MAGAZINE;

In a year such as this, you have many choices for "Person of The Year."  We are asking you to choose New York Governor Andrew Cuomo.    Why?  you may ask, allow us to explain.  

No one expected this pandemic.  As of yet there has not been an appropriate response from the federal government.  Many of us were blindly thrown into  situations we never dreamed we would be in.  This also left us looking for leadership.  Thousands upon thousands of us gravitated to New York Governor Andrew Cuomo's daily news briefings.  Information during these briefings was always truthful and presented in a meaningful way.  Perhaps  more important than this were the relatable moments, (see attached video).  During these moments the view felt a genuine connection to Mr. Cuomo and his family.  These moments gave us a sense that everything would be okay.  I am not a New Yorker, and many of the people who have signed this petition can say the same.  And, that goes straight to the heart of why you should choose  Andrew Cuomo as "Person of The Year."  

It was such a comfort to watch Governor  Cuomo lead, not only his state, but in many ways the nation through some of the darkest times we have ever known.  Long after this pandemic is over, after life returns to normal, even long after we are all gone, history will remember Mr. Cuomo's steady leadership during this crisis.  Andrew Cuomo is truly a once in a generation leader. Thank you for your time and consideration.
