I purchased tickets to a Broadway show for the summer months. Broadway has been shut down thru September 2020. No rescheduled date yet. I sat on the phone for over an hour with Ticketmaster. 30 minutes to reach an operator and another 30 while the operator "researched" the event I'm attending. Final result: NO REFUND DUE. They get to keep my $$$ and the billions of millions of hard-working Americans. 

Ticketmaster earned $9.4 BILLION dollars in 2019 from ticket revenue. They have a monopoly on the American sporting and music event ticketing industry. With the exception of Telecharge in NYC for selected Broadway shows, no other ticket company matches Ticketmaster. 

The global pandemic has turned every major business upside down, but most have revamped their business plans, methods, and found ways to still accommodate their customers in some form or fashion. Ticketmaster, owned by Live Nation, has done just the opposite. They provide you with no answers, no refund date, and no idea when your event could happen again. While the federal government is currently demanding airlines refund their customers for future flights, no such action has been taken by any federal agency to protect consumers in all 50 states. 

Americans need their money now more than ever, with jobs and careers in the balance, millions are struggling to pay their bills and provide for their families. In the meantime, Ticketmaster and Live Nation are earning interest on your money in the bank they may or may not eventually refund. It is time to remind both of these companies whose court the ball is in. When things resume to some sense of normal and concerts and sporting events come back in a new socially-distanced fashion. They rely on ticket sales and full arenas to make money. We can boycott concert tours we woulld've otherwise attended. And all those major league baseball, NBA games, and NFL games are on tv too. We can give our money to networks like AXS which airs concerts or spend our paychecks with the premium sports packages thru your cable or satellite TV system.
