TIA Should Enforce its Code of Ethics & STOP TQL FROM EXPLOITING TRUCKERS!

The Issue

We support America's independent truckers and small motor carriers who are tired of big 3PL freight brokerage corporations evading regulation.

We believe these logistics companies are manipulating the market under cloak of secrecy by imposing waivers of truck drivers' right to rate transparency under 49 CFR 371.3 in their contracts as a condition for doing business. This enables them to pay truck drivers very little and unethically extract huge profits that are not reasonable and customary commissions.

We hereby demand that the TIA broker trade group apply their Code of Ethics against TQL in response to the Small Business in Transportation Coalition's (SBTC) ethics complaint.

We further demand that TIA stop enabling their broker members to evade rate transparency regulations and issue guidance to their members that says as long as 371.3 is a bona fide rule in full force and effect, it is unethical under TIA's Code of Ethics to evade the Federal regulations through contractual waivers.

We finally demand that TIA make personnel changes as appropriate that send a message that TIA staff must also act in accordance with the same ethical standards as TIA's members.
