Dear Supporter I do apologise for the lapse in time from my last update, our campaigning has been very full on. The first thing to report on is how well the petition has done. To date we are just short of 46,500 signatures. Yes the petition has slowed down, but this is understandable, and its still over 6000 new supporters in 4 weeks! pretty impressive. Please do keep resharing the petition to forums and family, neighbours and work colleagues, anyone who cares enough to sign and share. Our final aim of getting the BSACI to reverse its decision has not yet been achived however we have been making waves. The BSACI have been respnding although they do still reiterate that patients will be receiving 2, 1 or 0 pens, with the majority only requiring 1 pen! this is very worrying. They talk of risk assessing the patient. My own GP didnt know what a Emerade pen was and had no idea about 999 calls being traiged for anaplylaxis and continually spoke of the 'huge expense of pens', what sort of risk assessment would we get? On a positive note the campaign has been educating people. We have had contact from 3 families now who were not aware of the MHRA guidelies for carrying two auto injector pens on them at all times. They have since gone back to their providers with these guidelines and gained more auto injector pens, brilliant news! Lindsay and Iris, who I now work alongside, have been a great support, and have had some amazing input into the petition and #carrytwo campaign. Lindsey is presently working on a video using our #wheredoyoucarrytwo photos with her husband which should be released by the end of the month, and Iris has spent many hours writing to various agencies and appearing in local newspapers spreading the word. They are stars and along with some other regular supporters have kept this campaign going on Twitter and Instagram, as well as posting regularly to our FB support page. Please feel free to add your photos to #wheredoyoucarrytwo on Twitter and Instagram and tweet the BSACI at bsaci_meeting with any concerns you may have. On the 28th October we were advised we would receive a statement, jointly presented from The Anaphylaxis Campaign, Allergy UK and the BSACI, over two weeks on we are still waiting for this statement. The statement is supposed to address our concerns over 999 triaging and delays in ambulances, if it is ever released we will of course share it here. One can only imagine why they have not relased it to date. Thanks again for your support and shares of this petition. Please do continue with the great work and watch out for the video which we will share here as soon as its ready to go live. Kind regards, Angela
