The Governor-General have prolonged the currency of the RC and I have sent some evidence to the newly-appointed Commissioner Pagone. The year had been wasted by Mr. Tracey and Ms. Briggs, completely wasted: all these cases of “impropriety”, committed by various offenders, had been known to the Aged Care “system” for years. The RC does not have to establish what had happened – it is already established by the thousands of complaints made by the victims. The RC must establish why it had happened and why particular individuals, who were/are responsible for the proper functioning of the Aged Care sector, didn’t use any of the legal instruments and mechanisms readily available to keep the industry in good shape and why the offenders are not behind bars? We have a sufficiently rigid regulatory and statutory regime to bring offenders to account and guarantee the proper functioning of the Aged Care – why have those laws never been used? Now, my priority it to move the RC to concentrate of investigation of the real sources of problem: officials and authorities who neglected their duty of care and committed serious criminal offences. Only accountability for the transgression will bring effective results! If offenders will walk without punishment again(!) - we are doomed. The Royal Commissions became extremely expensive way to "channel" the "steam of public anger" away from the real source of problem. People of Australia, please support my incoming PETITION!
