Petition updateThey Committed Felony Elder Fraud Against a Dying Woman. Demand Prosecution.1,200 Signatures. Still Under Review.

We have reached a point in this process where everything depends on one office. The State’s Attorney now holds this case. Every piece of evidence has already been delivered. Every inconsistency has been documented. Every legal red flag has been laid out. There is nothing left for me to “add” or “prove.” The next move belongs to them.

For anyone unfamiliar with how this stage works, this is normal. When a case involves criminal allegations tied to estate documents, investigators complete their work and then the file is transferred to a prosecutor for a charging decision. That decision can take time. It involves review by multiple people, internal approvals, and verification that each element of the crime is supported by the evidence. Silence does not mean the case is ignored. Silence means it is being evaluated behind a closed door.

I want to be clear about what is at stake. Forging a codicil on a dying person’s will is not a family dispute. It is a felony. It affects property transfers, estate integrity, notification rights, and the legal standing of every document connected to the original will. It is the kind of crime that carries consequences not only for the person who benefited, but also for anyone who signed or facilitated the act. Elder fraud is one of the most serious categories of financial crime because it targets people who cannot defend themselves.

That is why this case has moved from patrol to a supervisor to a deputy prosecutor to the Criminal Investigation Division and now to the State’s Attorney. Each step reflects recognition of the gravity of what happened.

We now wait for the decision that only their office can make.

You have carried this to twelve hundred signatures. That number matters. It shows that the public does not see this as a private disagreement. It sees a crime that deserves a formal answer.

I will update again the moment their office moves. Until then, thank you for standing behind this.
