This is what the paperwork actually says.
Original will: The daughter could live in the condo, or rent it out if she wanted. Same with the boat slip. She had security. She had options. What she could not do was sell, mortgage, or cash out the property. After she died, both were supposed to go to the grandson. If under 25, they would be protected in trust until I was old enough. Every protection for the next generation was locked in writing.
Codicil: All of that is deleted. My name is erased. The trust is erased. Every safeguard is removed. Now she can live in it, rent it, sell it, mortgage it, cash it out, transfer it, do whatever she wants. This was signed days before my grandmother died.
Let’s be clear. She was not boxed in. She was not cornered. She was not wronged. She already had every right to live there or rent it. There was no reason for this adjustment except to take full control and erase every protection for me.
Ask yourself: Who erases every protection for their own child and rewrites their own dying mother’s wishes at the last possible moment.
You want motive. This is motive. If your intent is anything but fraud, why the codicil?
Also, notice the misspelled name. Michelle instead of Michele. If you’re going to rewrite history, you might want to spellcheck first.
