Dear Supporters, I have just returned from New York where I was lobbying Iranian diplomats to free 77 year old Grandpa Kamal. It was the 3rd year in a row I went to New York during the United Nations General Assembly to meet the Iranians to discuss Grandpa Kamal’s detention. Let’s hope for 3rd time lucky. Unfortunately, Grandpa Kamal is still in Evin prison today (day 1,971!), still suffering cataracts in his eyes. We are very worried he will go blind soon unless he gets the eye operations he so desperately needs. Amnesty International has launched a new Urgent Action letter writing campaign for Grandpa Kamal. Please can you write to the Iranian authorities, asking them to either release Grandpa Kamal or give him the cataracts operations needed to avoid going blind. Please keep your emails/letters polite.
