It's easy to be disheartened by the naysayers. Especially with comments like these:
"Theatre is meant to be seen live."
Or this one:
"It's already closed. What's the point?"
Or even this one:
"I don’t want to rain on anyone’s parade here, but that’s not how this works. The show is already closed; the sets are likely already in storage for future productions (or, less likely but possible, destroyed), and none of the cast is under contract anymore. The show wasn't filmed with the new cast, and that would mean the set would have to be loaded back in, and the show would have to be teched and rehearsed again. Contracts would need to be signed with everyone involved. All of this during a pandemic would either severely limit or remove the audience altogether (let alone whether the unions would agree to allow the cast even to perform).
It's not likely, especially since Disney closed the show as it wasn’t doing well enough to justify staying open post-COVID. I don’t think they’d put a bunch of money into filming a show that didn’t do well for them financially."
Don't be discouraged by these comments and more.
Look at all of the signatures we've amassed so far and how we're getting exposed to several news media outlets. Look at all of the comments talking about how much it would mean to them for this to happen.
You all are making this possible because of one crucial thing: HOPE.
Please don't give up hope. I'm not. Yes, it's hard, yes, but I'm still plowing through each day, and I'm so happy by all of the people supporting this petition.
Keep it up, everybody. We're in this for the long haul, and I believe in everything working out. Continue sharing and spreading the word about this petition.
Have a great weekend!
