I will say that the reporter pointed out that even though Newsies and Hamiltion were filmed, they used much of the original cast. However, in Newsies, the only ones that returned to reprise their original roles from Broadway were Jeremy Jordan, Kara Lindsay, Ben Fankhauser, Andrew Keenan-Bolger, and Tommy Bracco. Much of the supporting and ensemble members were from the national tour production, so technically, not every single person from the original Broadway cast was available to do the staged film production of Newsies. I will agree that Hamilton used the original cast since it was filmed back in 2016, I believe. But that's just a little detail that I discovered from reading this article.

The point is we're not sure if the original Broadway cast of Frozen will be available to do a filmed stage production if the opportunity comes. Many of them have moved on to other projects, two of the cast members have just recently become mothers (Patti and Caissie, to be exact), and much more. Then again, I don't know how much of this work, so it's anybody's guess as to how they determine which cast member comes back to do something like this.

This is why we need to keep pushing to get Disney on Broadway/Disney Theatrical Group to consider using the most recent Broadway cast for the staged film production. It gives audiences a chance to see fresh talent and new takes on the characters that were graced by incredible talent from the original company for over three years. Plus, I feel like it gives this cast a chance to shine when their time was cut so short by a pandemic.

I still urge each and every one of you to continue sharing this petition, and every little bit DOES help. We've received so many signatures lately, and I'm excited to see it continue to grow.
