It appears that the applicants hope to get planning pemission by virtue of the sheer weight of documents they submit, or the number of times they re-submit new versions of what is - to all intents and purposes- exactly the same totally unacceptable proposal!
Today (13 September) a further EIGHTEEN documents submitted by the applicants have appeared on Oxfordshire County Council's planning website. In the next few days I shall review their contents, to try to help cut down your reading time!
You can find them here: Select documents 'both' and 'date added' and click the arrow to place the recents uploads at the top: https://myeplanning.oxfordshire.gov.uk/Planning/Display/MW.0151/23/#undefined )
During the last consultation, we spotted the applicants' serious ommission of the Wicklesham community whose houses are yards from the quarry, leading to our update - 'WICKLESHAM COMMUNITY WIPED OFF THE MAP' - and a letter to the applicants from Oxfordshire County Council, to which they responded with a pretence of blank lack of understanding and denial. That cuts little ice in the face of the evidence of the documents themselves. (You can read that update here: https://www.change.org/p/the-vale-of-white-horse-district-council-and-secretary-of-state-michael-gove-protect-wicklesham-quarry-from-development/u/32709765
It demonstrates that all the applicants' documents need careful reading and the benefit of local knowledge, in order to spot misinformation and misrepresentation.
Today I have sent the following email to Oxfordshire County Council: -
"I see that there are today eighteen new submissions by the applicant on the website. I am sure that members of the public will be interested in reading these and people may wish to respond to them.
May I take it that you will now open a further period of consultation on the applicants' submissions?
While people who are deeply interested in this matter have felt besieged by numerous documents with unhelpful titles that do not clearly distinguish them or indicate their contents - those who have devoted the considerable time necessary to reading them have found the applicants' submissions have been plagued by inaccurate statements and suggestions, misleading drawings and assertions, and critical ommissions. It is therefore of the utmost importance that local people should again have the opportunity to read and respond to the new documents.
As you will recall, the applicants' previous submissions omitted all references to the community that lives right next to the quarry. They failed to consider the impacts of the development on these households, and even eliminated their houses from their drawings- claiming that the only nearby dwelling was Wicklesham Lodge Farmhouse itself- belonging to the applicant! This extraordinary mendacity means that local people will be paying especially close attention to all the applicant's submissions."
More news to follow on this. Please keep in touch with the campaign to Protect Wicklesham Quarry from Development and email any comments or queries to protectwicklesham@gmail.com.
We need as MUCH support from the people of Faringdon and the Vale as possible!
