Posted here: Mild Cognitive Decline??? https://www.change.org/p/the-us-senate-calling-for-a-congressional-investigation-of-the-cdc-idsa-and-aldf/u/23019486 As Chair of the Tick Borne Disease Working Group there are serious questions for you that require answers. 1. Can you please tell us what studies are in the pipeline to determine how Lyme disease disabled these victims? 2. Misdiagnosed and untreated Lyme disease creates the same life-altering/life-threatening consequences as untreated strep throat but this has been well hidden from the worldwide medical community and general population. When is Lyme going to be recognized as a horribly disabling infection as described in these comments? 3. I understand that you had an interest in DNA testing of tissue samples “which you think may most likely harbor Lyme borreliae and are now being stored at -80C at Johns Hopkins. What is the status of this study? 4. The experimental test developed at NIST which has been "shown to detect the disease near the time of infection" has been put on the shelf. Why has this technology been shelved? New Experimental Test Detects Signs of Lyme Disease Near Time of Infection February 11, 2016 https://www.nist.gov/news-events/news/2016/02/new-experimental-test-detects-signs-lyme-disease-near-time-infection The collaborators—from the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), Institute for Bioscience and Biotechnology Research, and Johns Hopkins School of Medicine—recently reported the successful first trial of their new method. 5. Dr. Aucott, are you being controlled by those who want to keep Lyme in the category of easily diagnosed and treated… basically a simple nuisance disease as it has been portrayed for the last thirty years? 6. Are you purposely avoiding studies that might identify persistent infection for fear of losing your appointment at Hopkins? Based on your recent publications it would appear that the thirty year racketeering scheme identified in the SHRADER & ASSOCIATES, LLP RICO lawsuit has a stronghold over your study design; excluding the sickest of the patient population as if they don’t even exist. Lyme disease is an infection that is destroying lives, ending careers, causing death and disability while leaving victims in financial ruin and you are well aware of these facts. A response to this inquiry is requested. Sincerely, Carl Tuttle Lyme Endemic Hudson, NH A carbon copy of this email has been sent to Representatives, Chris Smith and Colin Peterson along with Attorney Daniel Dutko of Hanszen Laporte.
