Stop Oxford University Rising Tuition Fees to £9,250 per year for Current Students

Last week The University of Oxford announced that, from 2017/18, they intend to increase fees for new home and EU students from £9,000 to £9,250 a year.
We are very disappointed to be informing you that, subject to parliamentary approval, the university also intends to increase fees to this level, £9,250 per year, for current home and EU students.
We’re announcing this to you because the changes haven’t been communicated clearly to students. The University haven’t published a statement, their website is ambiguous, and the vast numbers of students who will be affected by this have not been contacted. As your Students’ Union we feel we have a duty to make sure you understand what is going on. It is particularly disappointing that the University haven’t been transparent on a decision which, while still dependent on parliamentary approval, will affect every home and EU undergraduate student if it comes to pass.
Crucially, we don’t think it’s too late to change this. The Higher Education Bill is unlikely to be approved before October, and at OUSU we’re pursuing every avenue we can to lobby the University to reverse their decision. But we need you to add your voice. Help us to show the University that this kind of unfair treatment of students simply won’t be tolerated.
We have fought these fee rises and we are still fighting them.
The University have said they want to know what students think. Stand with us. Tell your university that this is unacceptable.
Please sign our petition and leave a comment urging the University not to go ahead with this reprehensible policy.
