Welcome Hawkeyes!
Smack talk. While we would never divide our coalition, we think you all should know that TENNIS had the most people pledge last week. If you have pride in your sport, you better let your team mates know that it’s time to stand up for Men’s swimming and diving, Women’s swimming and diving, and Men's gymnastics. As an athlete, you know how those stats matter, right? We’re all stronger together, so tell your team to step up and score!
What’s Happening?
- We’ve had 3 meetings with University leaders from the president’s office, Athletic Department, Division of Student Life, the Center for Advancement and the John Pappajohn Entrepreneurial Center (JPEC.)
- William & Mary reinstated all 7 sports cut a few months ago! See news story below.
- Four Iowa students have been hired to work with David Hensley of JPEC to develop the new model financials. YAY! They began meeting last Tuesday.
- November 12th the Transfer Portal opens. Boo!
What can YOU do to help?
- The University leaders are very interested in the NUMBER of PEOPLE who have pledged. Help us bring in more pledged people! We want to have 1000 people or more pledged this month. We already have more than 550. Take it to the next level by recruiting one of the following…
- 4 people to pledge, one for each of the 4 sports cut
- 12 people to pledge to help us close the transfer portal and keep our team members and coaches
- 20 because it’s 2020

- Get inventive – We’re all competitors, let’s have a competition. You create your team, you create your rules. The thing that matters is that we get more people pledged and get these sports reinstated.
