Hello, I am going speak up for many who disagree with the social media ban. Many children, especially 12-year-olds like me, yearn to become social media influencers, like the TikTok queen Addison Rae or the magician Zach King. But there is only one problem.

Firstly, you and I have the right to be proud of ourselves. Everyone is welcome to show off themselves by singing, dancing, drawing and even breathing or blinking. We all have our own special talents. However, children under 10, who are vulnerable to social media, have careless parents who allow their kids to do whatever on social media, like TikTok and everyone's favourite Bitmoji app, Snapchat. Then, a grown man or woman approaches the kids, and the parents find out and boom. They complain to the government. If you have heard of the appalling incident in which a child microwaved a toy squishy, it is actually the parents' fault for letting young children use such platforms.

And now, the UK government has banned social media for all children, just because of random parents not being secure or steady enough to stop their kids. It's not fair. It's not nice. It's not something we should take away from them. If you take something small away from children with big dreams, where will they end up? What makes you think crushing a person's dream is valid? When I was 6, I approached a man pretending to be a cat, and instead of my parents complaining to the government, my neighbour at the time knew and reported it to my parents. And they only prevented me from using it. That's parenting, that's discipline, that's us.

Ladies and Gentlemen, whose children died, I am deeply sorry for your loss. However, we have no right to complain about an application that shows hundreds of 11-to 18-year-olds' hard work and talent across their videos. We have no right to take these away from people who appreciate themselves. We have no right to destroy talent. We have no right to bulldoze creative children off creative platforms. It has the equivalent reaction to taking crayons away from a child who loves art, or taking a queen away from a chessboard.

Also, not only may a child make creatives or watch for entertainment, but also use these to bond and connect with friends and family. It is not fair on the ones who need to contact their families through these apps, the ones who watch social media for fun or the ones who create and post their talents. If parents are unhappy with their children on platforms like TikTok or Instagram, or other social media apps, they can set screen limits or leave the app blocked, rather than complain to politicians about these matters. The ones who create have the priority to speak over the ones who hate.

It is now against us. We 11-15s have the right to speak. We have the right to speak up. We have a voice. We have privileges. We are humans; we are rightful; we are respectful. We can yodel out loud to the prime minister that we have a dream. We can scream out loud to the parliament that we develop. We shine. We create. And most importantly, we care. We can even tell the prime minister to set bans for younger children, such as 10 or under, as they are very vulnerable to such media.
