The Issue
We are living in times of growing confusion and division, often driven by powerful individuals who prioritize their own interests over the common good. Many people feel disoriented and powerless. Disinformation, repression, and division are tools used to weaken us.
Political leadership has too often failed to address the immense global challenges we face. Meanwhile, history shows us that a different path is possible.
In 1945, in a moment of collective clarity, “the Peoples of the United Nations” came together with a shared vision of peace, dignity, and cooperation. They founded the UN to safeguard those ideals and established a set of universal principles for a just and peaceful world order.
WHAT WE ASK?
We call upon the United Nations to:
- Publicly and proactively explain the core principles of coexistence and shared human values, as established by the UN Charter and other additional documents
- Propagate these principles in a clear, educational, and accessible format, translated into as many languages as possible,
- Make use of digital platforms and social media to become a global reference point for the essential values of peaceful coexistence and shared progress.
THE POTENTIAL IMPACT
We believe that reminding the world of these shared principles could inspire a renewed global movement for unity and peace. Regardless of our backgrounds, cultures, or beliefs, millions of people are ready to rally around a common set of values that reflect our deepest hopes for the future.
Sharing values is not a symbolic act, but a necessary step to move forward together toward a better world. The United Nations, as the custodian of the values chosen by all humanity, should take the first step and spread them to all the citizens of the world. A large part of humanity will understand what unites us and will join.
