As it stands, there are four banned breeds in the UK, one of them being the American Pit Bull Terrier. There are many owners of these banned breeds out there whose dogs are so kind and gentle. We need to stop the negativity towards the banned breeds, and instead have the temperament assessed on individual dogs that have been aggressive or showed aggression.

A study was conducted recently at Bristol University, which showed that Bull breeds are no more likely to be aggressive than the other breeds; why are we banning Pit Bull Terriers, which are one of the four lovely but banned breeds, from our country?

There is already a law going through the House of Commons named the 'Dog Control Bill', which will remove breed specific legislation, and will also put more responsibility on the dog owners to make sure the dog is well behaved in public and private places.

The problem is, the last reading on the Dog Control Bill in the House of Commons was in 2011. If it has been eight years since the last reading, then it is unlikely to be spoken about soon. If you sign this petition, you will be helping the Dog Control Bill be discussed again in Parliament, to hopefully get it made into an official law.

Please help these breeds become legalised, and stop some of the kindest dogs being euthanised based on what they look like.
