John Baskeyfield is a Stoke on Trent war hero, he single handedly fought off German tanks before being killed in action in WW2. Mr Baskeyfield was posthumously awarded the Victoria Cross, for his bravery during the battle of Arnhem in 1944. It is not right nor fair- that his name should be stripped and replaced at this School! Many people locally and nationally are disgusted at the school's change of name. By disregarding John Baskeyfield you are also disregarding the history and heritage of Stoke on Trent and it's people!
