You can change someone's life with Divorce
The Issue
They say it's better to let others have another chance to live. Divorce by law shouldn't be viewed from a religious point of view but a legal and societal point of view. Sometimes, there are those instances where the Church must not indulge with state matters. And this is one of those instances. The grounds for Divorce are not unjustifiable and unreasonable at all. Some families are experiencing marital infidelity, domestic violence, chronic gambling, and engagement in illegal drugs out there. And if there's one immediate solution that could probably stop and decrease the number of families experiencing these issues, that would be Divorce. Although primarily argued by conservative and religious persons as invalidation of marriage, Divorce is a matter that values an individual's freedom. It enables individuals to break free from the situation that they have constantly been experiencing, something that these conservative and religious persons would agree upon as well. We might have contradicting opinions, but we all agree upon the same thing; that every individual does not deserve to be diminished of their rights. Suppose every family out there who's currently experiencing family issues has no legal term of breaking free from it. In that case, they will keep on experiencing the same matter repeatedly, which we know is a violation of their human right. Hence, we could conclude that being against Divorce is selfish. Upholding the values, faith, and belief also upheld by the Church is not wrong. We are in a country where the majority of us are Roman Catholic. However, the values, faith, and belief that we take note of sometimes could be outweighed by different antithetical and opposing opinions and facts. Divorce is an invalidation of the sacrament and valid marriage, but keeping our eyes blind towards what's currently happening despite the appeals is not just an invalidation of human rights, but the moral values upheld by the Church. Let us put ourselves into the victims' shoes.
