Message from Professor Chan Kinman before the sentence
Dear friends,
As we were convicted on Apr. 9, we are now waiting for the sentences to be handed down on Apr. 24. It is quite likely that I will be sent to jail on that day. In the verdict, the judge commented that we were naive believing that an occupy action could bring Hong Kong democracy.
I remain naive today believing that the imprisonment, if any, will only blow new life to our movement. I hope that you can continue to raise awareness among your people on how China exercises its "sharp power" in Hong Kong and how Hong Kong regime has become more and more repressive.
