Problem: For those of us who are still hoping to bring an NBA team back to Seattle, our chances of building the new arena in the SoDo District are holding us back by the Seattle City Council's previous disapproval. What's even worse is that the city's government approved the KeyArena for the NHL expansion, but eventually acquiring an NBA team into the Seattle Center would be unaffordable for putting everything thing together in one arena.

Solution: Our goal for this effort is to get the Seattle City Council to approve a conditional vacation of a one-block section of Occidental Avenue South in SoDo. Otherwise, just like the last time, history would repeat itself in the KeyArena that could eventually lead us to gridlock the traffic as a nightmare with the possible average of 257 events, per year.

Benefits To Who? The approval of this application means we’re one step closer to a shovel-ready arena project and putting Seattle in the best possible position to attract an NBA team. Therefore, it will benefit the basketball fans, the existing tenant homes of Storm (WNBA) and SU Redhawks (NCAAM), and the youth players in Seattle who will need to experience for a bright future of tomorrow.
