On August 18, 2011 The Russian Paralympic Committee REJECTED a proposal by the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) and the World Snowboard Federation (WSF) to include Para-Snowboard Cross Standing – Men and Women events in the 2014 Sochi Paralympic games.

It was our hope that the inclusion of snowboarding in the 2014 Sochi Paralympic games would create a bases for further development of adaptive snowboarding. Our entire classification system is based on and created by skiers. Only the IPC has the resources to change it.

Did you watch the Paralympic games last year? Neither did I, I was busy snowboarding. Just as we would like to see the IOC take action and address the concerns of snowboarding, we are asking Russia to give snowboarding the chance it deserves.

I am personally signing this petition on behalf of Para-Snowboarding. It is my understanding that you have rejected the International Paralympic Proposal to include Para-Snowboarding Gravity Cross in the 2014 Sochi Paralympic Games.

I disagree with this decision and encourage you to re-consider.
