Please stop and rethink the current plans to demolish large parts of Rawtenstall's old Town Hall and Tramway Offices and burdening the taxpayer with over £4 million worth of Council loans/debt on an inappropriate 'space-age' bus station which still requires the Secretary of State's permission for the stopping up (closure) of public roads before any construction works may commence.

Allow far better solutions to be found through proper and meaningful public consultation and planning for the bus station, traffic management and redevelopment of Rawtenstall as a whole and thus facilitate the successful regeneration of both Rawtenstall and the surrounding Rossendale Valley.
