Kia ora koutou e te whānau,
WE NEED YOUR HELP TODAY
The Waitematā Local Board have been asked by the Ministry to extend Landowner Approval for the proposed Erebus Memorial (due to expire in early December this year). We cannot let that happen.
We need you to email to the Local Board and ask that they not only deny the extension but that they also revoke Landowner Approval entirely. It can be just that one sentence.
The link to the Agenda is here.
The decision to extend or revoke will be made at a public meeting on 22 November 2022 starting at 1.00pm at the Local Board office at 33 Federal Street. Space will be limited but everyone is welcome. The Ministry and a small group of Erebus families will be speaking in support of the Extension, so we need to ensure the community voice is heard, loud and clear.
It is incredibly important that the recently elected board members know how the community feel about this flawed project, and your expectations that those successful candidates honour their campaign commitments to you to stop this Memorial proceeding at Mataharehare/Dove-Myer Robinson Park.
We will also be presenting Margaret Brough’s Petition on the day.
If Landowner Approval is revoked, then the Memorial cannot proceed.
As always, we appreciate your support.
Please urgently write to the following and ask that they deny any extension and also revoke Landowner Approval for the Erebus Memorial:
