Daniel Roper died April 10, 2023 following an altercation in the backyard of a townhouse complex on Louth Street in St. Catharines.

The sister of a Niagara man killed in 2023 says the sentence imposed against the person who held a wooden table against her brother’s neck and chest is not nearly enough.
“The sentence was a slap in the face both to the victim, along with the victim’s family,” said Vanessa Gallant.
