This is what I wrote to our local MP.

Dear Mr. Turnbull
After the November 11 Ceremony in Whitby,   I spoke to you briefly about the application of the Criminal Code across Canada. I am attaching a petition that I mentioned to you during our chat. Please seriously consider assisting with the enforcement of Canada s Criminal Code. For hundreds of years the Criminal Code has only been applied to the lower classes in our Country or people with little power to control the Criminal Code.  I am also going to attach my background resume to show you I am very serious about this abuse of power in Canada.  Please get back to me and let me know what you plan to do to help victims of crime.

    Sincerely

    James (Jim) Black

I taught in the First Native Controlled School in Canada, Chief Jimmy Bruneau School in Rae-Edzo NWT. 1976. Having been a Private Investigator and Graduate of Trent University Native Education Program I was asked to become a Justice of the Peace serving on Wednesday evenings and performed Weddings, and reviewed search documents. I had the honour of meeting some of the greatest RCMP Officers in Canada including Kevin Vickers who help save Canada's Parliament. After moving to Yellowknife and asked to Teach Native Studies at the High School, the school principal asked me to write a report to the Ministry of Education closing down the Native school residences across the NWT. I wrote it in in my spare time and on weekends. Within three years Native Residential School residences were finally closed and the local communities provided education to grade 12 in their communities. Over the years I have done a few things to help people. I was the first of two intern supervisor of the Native Teacher Certification Program at Nipissing University in North Bay, 1989-90. I had the honour of helping over 20 First Nation Teachers to become teachers across Ontario. I have spent a life time calling for human rights, writing petitions, whistle blowing on corrupt practices. In 2002 I was asked to bring four of my high school students to New York to thanks the world for the support given to the people during 911. We had set up a web page and raised money for the People of New York. We helped produce a video played around the world on Sept 11 2002. (Google Apple Project Dryden Ontario. ) One of the students gave the crew an Eagle Feather dream catcher to help them during their difficult time. I can tell you all kinds of stories.... I helped stop sex offenders from teaching in Ontario Schools..... That took me over 10 years of protesting. I can go on and on..... but I want to tell you why I have spent a life time doing good things for people. I had the honour of being asked to publish Black History on Museum's Canada web site. (Google Jim Black Colour Corp) One reason for my efforts was my experience with the guards of the US President at 8th and i in Washington DC, 1974. As a member of the Fort Henry Guard I had the Honour of staying with them in Washington. They were prepared to put their life on the line every moment of their guard duty.... I was amazed at their experience and their commitment to do right. Take care in these difficult times..... James (Jim) Black
