Israel has one of the strongest records of any UN country in improving world health, both in research and development and the discovery of new life saving treatments and drugs, and in going to the aid of countries around the world providing medical care in disaster areas and hands on treatment in Third World countries.  The most recent example has been the state of the art field hospital in Nepal and previously similar provision in Haiti.    Hardly a day goes by without some new breakthrough in the treatment of life threatening illnesses and disease discovered by Israeli researchers.  Israel has been a beacon of light in improving the health of its Arab population, with increased life expectancy and a vastly better infant mortality rate than any of its Muslim neighbouring countries.   The resolution is a complete travesty  and it is hard to believe how the representative of any self respecting Western country could put their hands up in support of such a blatant lie.
