

On the 80th Anniversary of the D Day landings, it is good to remember how pigeons helped us during wartime.
Gustav, also known as NPS.42.31066, was a pigeon of the RAF Pigeon Service during World War 2. He was awarded the Dickin Medal, also known as the Animal’s’ Victoria Cross, for bringing the first report of the Normandy Landings back to the British mainland in June 1944. See link below.
