Beautiful birds - cruelly abused
Pigeons and seagulls are beautiful birds, who add life to our open spaces, but they are all too often cruelly abused.
Tragically, some people believe that abuse of these vulnerable birds, such as kicking, chasing and tormenting, is acceptable. It is NOT! This attitude is leading to a culture of cruelty and an acceptance of abuse. It is at the root of much of the cruelty to animals in our society today.
Pigeon abuse and seagull abuse must be effectively outlawed and stopped, and replaced with respect and kindness. Pigeons saved thousands of lives during both World Wars, as messengers. They are our forgotten heroes of war.
