Today, everyone wants to be treated with respect, and many animals and birds receive special protection. Nevertheless, pigeons are excluded from being fed, and persecuted at almost every opportunity. Why?
The heroism of pigeons in saving thousands of lives in both World Wars, as messengers, should be publicly recognised and celebrated, and the abuse stopped.
Pigeons are a bit like us. They are just trying to survive.
Abuse of pigeons often leads to further abuse of other vulnerable creatures, animals and people. A whole generation is growing up, believing that abuse of vulnerable creatures is acceptable. It is not!
My MP describes pigeon abuse as “incredibly cruel and unnecessary”.

Pigeons are “protected” by the Wildlife and Countryside Act of 1981. This law is not enforced, so the abuse continues.
This petition receives “the silent treatment” whenever it is submitted to the Prime Minister, Government Ministers, or anyone else with the power to stop the cruelty. Currently, nobody with the power to stop the abuse of pigeons will actually stop it - let alone speak out against it!
Pigeon abuse is effectively being encouraged in our nation. This is disgraceful.Nevertheless, many voices speaking out against the cruelty must change this.
We need someone influential, with the power to stop the abuse, to champion this cause and condemn the cruelty. Do you know of anyone who could do this?
Meanwhile, the following are ways of helping to get this abuse stopped:-
-Contact Home Secretary, Suella Braverman, and ask her to stop pigeon persecution and abuse, the most cruel form of antisocial behaviour -

-Ask the Prime Minister to enforce the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981, which “protects” all wild birds, including pigeons, but is not being enforced.
