Let’s be kind to pigeons. They deserve respect and kindness, just like other birds.

Our society today emphasises the need for everyone to be treated with respect. Why, then, is cruelty to pigeons, such as kicking, chasing and tormenting,  ignored and allowed to continue? It makes no sense, especially in London where animals such as foxes, swans and even deer are protected!

Please share this petition with others.  It aims to protect pigeons and people who defend them, from abuse.  I attach a link to it, below: -

15,635 people have signed.  Many have written in detail about their desire to see cruelty to pigeons stopped.  Please take time to read their comments and reasons for signing.

There should be Zero Tolerance towards the abuse of pigeons, backed up by notices in parks and public places, as well as education in nurseries, schools and colleges, teaching children to respect pigeons, just like other birds, and explaining how pigeons served our nation in wartime, as messengers and lifesavers.

Respect for pigeons should feature on the National Curriculum.

There is no need to abuse pigeons.  It is cruel and unnecessary.

Please help, as follows:-

 - Ask the Prime Minister to enforce the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981, which “protects” all wild birds, including pigeons, but is not being enforced.
