It is time to respect pigeons, who are persecuted, kicked and chased.
Pigeon abuse is unmerited and unfair. It shames our Nation Of Animal lovers. Tragically it has become a habit.
Carrier pigeons saved thousands of human lives in wartime, as messengers. 32 pigeons won the PDSA Dickin Medal for their outstanding wartime service and sacrifice. The first was Winkie, who saved the lives of four airmen whose plane had crashed into the North Sea. Winkie’s story can be read in my previous Petition updates.
Here are some suggestions for helping pigeons to have a better life: -
Prince William and Kate launched The Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood to “drive awareness of, and action on, the extraordinary impact of the early years, changing what we think and do on early childhood, in order to transform society for generations to come.”
The website link is: royalfoundation.com
1. Please ask the Royal Foundation Centre to stress the importance of teaching children to be kind to all creatures, particularly pigeons. What we teach children in the early years stays with them.
2. Ask the Prime Minister to keep his promise, made on Holocaust Memorial Day, to “fight against ALL forms of hatred and prejudice, wherever they are found” by outlawing pigeon abuse and giving pigeons protection under the law! No living creature, should be abused.
The Prime Minister, as head of the Conservative party, can be contacted at -
Dear Prime Minister
Please keep your promise, made on Holocaust Memorial Day to “fight against all forms of hatred and prejudice, wherever they are found” by outlawing and stopping pigeon abuse in parks, and public places, and giving pigeons specific protection under the Animal Welfare Sentience laws and the Action Plan for Animal Welfare.
It is absolutely disgraceful that pigeon abuse continues in our “Nation of Animal Lovers”. It is incredibly cruel and limits our freedom to enjoy parks and public places. It also threatens the safety of anyone who tries to defend pigeons. This is undemocratic and unacceptable.

6. Contact celebrities and the media to ask for help in promoting this campaign. I am still waiting to hear from Classic fm, the BBC, Animal Aid and The Imperial War Museum. Please feel free to make contact with anyone who might help. We need your voice to speak against the cruelty. I can’t achieve this alone.
Thank you.
