Please attend the second reading of the Animal Welfare Sentience Bill on 18th January 2022 and speak up for animals who have no voice.
I am particularly concerned about pigeons, who are sentient beings, and need special protection under this law, as they are so often abused.
Pigeons deserve a good life. They are loyal, intelligent and friendly. They saved thousands of lives during wartime, as vital messengers, and their courage in the face of extreme adversity must never be forgotten. They helped us win the freedom which we all enjoy today. Let’s give them respect, just like other birds.
Pigeons do not pose a risk to human health, as confirmed by vets and the RSPB.
Pigeons need specific protection under the Animal Welfare Sentience Bill, being discussed in Parliament on 18 January. This could help stop the abuse and cruelty towards them.

Speciesism has no place in our world today. Let’s make the world a fairer place for animals, and for pigeons, in particular, and give them full and specific protection under the Animal Welfare Sentience law. The abuse of pigeons, our forgotten heroes of war, shames our Nation of Animal Lovers. Abuse of pigeons, or any other creatures, has no place in our modern world today.
