Good news on 13 June 2021.
My petition to stop the abuse of pigeons in parks and public places currently has 7,426 signatures, thanks to everyone who has signed and shared it!
The Government has been made aware of this petition, and I have received a reply from them, acknowledging receipt, and confirming their appreciation of the views expressed. This is good news, but this petition is still ongoing, and needs more signatures. Please continue to sign and share it with friends, family and contacts. Thank you.
It is very important now to give pigeons the respect and compassion that they deserve, and to restore their tarnished reputation. They are beautiful creatures, who give life to our parks and public places, and are fascinating to watch. They are loyal, intelligent and friendly. Pigeons served our nation valiantly during both World Wars, as vital messengers. Their contribution must never be forgotten, as it helped us to achieve victory, and the freedom which we all enjoy today.
Pigeons do not pose a risk to human health, as confirmed by vets and the RSPB.
The cruelty towards pigeons, which damages Great Britain’s reputation, both at home and abroad, as a Nation Of Animal Lovers, must end.
