As a result of a bipartisan, backroom deal made in December, Congress reduced the annual cost-of-living adjustment for military retirees and survivors, leading to a 20 percent cut to retirement benefits over the course of their lives. That's a lot of money for a folks who have already taken a hard hit this year! For a retired E-7, that could mean the loss of $83,000 in retirement savings. 

This is latest instance of veterans being affected by Washington dysfunction. Sequestration and the government shutdown already affected many services that support veterans and their families. This change to military retiree pensions will have a devastating long-term impact on the benefits already earned by those who have sacrificed the most for this country. We must act now to fight for a full repeal of the cuts to all military retirees' benefits.
