This is important because not only was Sarah Kruzan raped and abused by her pimp but also by the people who are suppose to protect children and women from people like this. Sarah Kruzan was only a child at the time and never knew what it felt like to be a child she was treated like a slave her whole life. She never had a mother or father to give her that protection and love she deserved. When she finally met a guy that showed her love he failed her once again. Sarah Kruzan felt that her only way out was to kill the one who abused and raped her and I feel that we all have the right to protect ourselves. Sarah never knew what trust and love was so she felt her only way out was to kill him because not only did she save herslf but she also saved the other girls lives that felt like their was no ending. I feel the punishment that was given to her was harsh and cruel. When she felt she had been freed from abuse and rape the courts turn around and did the same thing. By giving this harsh sentence this make it hard for other children and women going through the same thing speak up for themselves. I feel Sarah Kruzan is a strong woman to even find a way out because their are other children and women scared to even speak out or do anything about their abuse. The USA represents freedom so why have Sarah's been taken. She never knew what freedom felt like so she should have the chance to be freed and persue life and start a family to give and recieve the love she never had. Sarah should also be awarded some money from the state of California for pain and suffering. She has suffered for to long.
