That was the headline of the editorial in the Scottish edition of the Daily Mail on Tuesday after we issued our first press release about the petition. The Mail suggested that "The signatories feel that the loss of Scotland from the Union would be damaging and hurtful in their daily lives.....and that the end of the most political union in history would make them the poorer". What a great summary of what we are trying to achieve and of what it is clear that many signatories feel. It was also great that The Press and Journal in Aberdeen reported on the petition, to add to the earlier coverage in the Herald. At the time of writing, we now have over 600 signatures. But we have a long way to go if we are to make a really powerful statement of our feelings to Scottish voters. So please do use your networks of family, friends and others to spread the word so that we can continue to build the numbers. And thank you for your support so far.
