Recent evidence has surfaced indicating that Dr. Mustafa Hirji is enacting absurd Covid measures on our children that are in direct opposition to provincial guidance. We, the people, call for an immediate removal of him from office.

These new mandates have been put in place without any consultation with the province, other medical officers of health, or anyone for that matter. Requiring families to provide medical documentation in this setting is not only against the law, it is punitive and repugnant. The Student Exemption Forms that our regional school boards have is enough information and should be respected. 

It is highly discriminatory to deny students their education simply because they are unable to wear a mask. Our children have suffered enough with the current measures, we don't need to add any more pressure. We know that common side-effects of mask wearing can include headaches, drowsiness, dizziness, reduced ability to concentrate, and reductions in cognitive function. Also, given that the development of neurodegenerative diseases can take years to manifest, we will not ignore the potential long-term harms of mask usage on our already vulnerable children. We will not risk the physical, psychological and emotional damage without any evidence of benefit.

We must not allow Dr. Hirji to continue to dictate our lives to us, and more importantly, the lives of our babies. He must be stopped, and stopped immediately.
