11 IMPORTANT UPDATES! 1. Board meeting last night went very well. 8pm - 1am. Congrats to our newly elected officers: Alan - President. Annette - VP. Dena - Secretary. James - Treasurer. Special thanks to James for driving all the way down from Albany! 2. We now have six members on the board. And I am now legally the Executive Director! 3. Tappan Indian historian Evan Pritchard attended and the board has voted to sell his book about the history of the Tappaen and Dutch on our website as a fundraising tool. It’s a limited edition first edition that he JUST finished writing. More info coming soon. 4. We finalized our advertising and media plan for January, to be publicly shared in early January on our website. 5. We’ve created a list of volunteer position vacancies (to share shortly). 6. We’ve begun plans to create a Rockland / Westchester art competition for high school, middle school, and elementary school students. 7. We’ve set our 1st Quarter 2018 milestones as: -Reaching 200,000 signatures on the petition (about double what we have now); -Raising a total of $20,000 (about double what we have now) 8. The board has voted to declare Clifton Cloud’s song, “Rolling on the Tappan Zee” as our official song. It will be posted on the website soon, and potentially available for sale. 9. Dena and I opened the corporate bank account today. I will be linking the GoFundMe account today and beginning the withdrawal process. We will receive debit cards in 5 - 7 business days. I will also soon be creating an official email list that you can join. 10. The board has directed me to use the fundraising capability on Change.org to start another fundraiser, to take advantage of their fundraising system. Keep an eye out for it! 11. I will be completing the IRS tax exempt application over the next week and submitting in early January. There are three ways you can help: 1. Share the petition on social media and with friends to encourage more people to sign. Let’s try to get to 105,000 signatures before New Year’s! 2. Volunteer to help us out.
