I sent the full detailed proposal out to all of you two days ago and no one had great opposition to it then. Please make comments only after you read the actual proposal. Dear Team Tappan Zee, Did you read the new article in Newsday? It's fantastic! Based on your positive feedback, I have created a fundraising page and proposal for our new not-for-profit, which will be called--tada-- (based on feedback), "The Tappan Zee Bridge Historical Preservation Society, Inc." Please read what I propose, and if you agree, make a suggested contribution of at least $1 (but $25 would be ideal) to help us speedily reach the goal of $100,000: https://www.gofundme.com/savethetappanzee The goal of $100,000 can be met in a number of ways: 100,000 of you can donate $1 50,000 of you can donate $2 25,000 of you can donate $4 10,000 of you can donate $10 5,000 of you can donate $20 2,500 of you can donate $40 2,000 of you can donate $50 1,000 of you can donate $100 In other words, we can definitely reach our goal if EACH of you chips in $1, but as you can see, we'd need a lot fewer of you to make this happen if you can afford to chip in a little bit more. Also, I know that not all 103,000 of the petition signers will want to or be able to chip in. Therefore, if you could please consider an amount $5 or more ($25 would be perhaps ideal), we have a much better chance of reaching the $100,000. As I note on the petition, if we don't raise a significant amount, I will refund the money to all who contributed. Also know that even if we raise $500,000, or $1,000,000, I will still remain on a meager part-time salary of $3,000/month for the foreseeable future. My salary would only increase upon board consent (and I will not be on the board, so I would have no control over any salary increases). Bottom line, I'm not doing this to enrich myself, and I give you my word that I will never betray the trust you have put in me thus far if you can in return simply help get this organization off the ground. I truly believe that this next step is going to have a strong impact on what we are ultimately trying to do.
