We the citizens of Mason City and the surrounding area of North Iowa, come forward to sign this petition in the name of Animal Rights. We have witnessed and believe that the Circus brought to Mason City (The George Carden Circus presented as "The Shrine Circus") does not treat their Elephants, Tigers, Camels, and Horses humanely. I, Breanna Mae Flores, attended one of the events last year to obtain evidence of such inhumane conditions and witness the animal cruelty first hand. It was absolutely heart breaking to see Bull Hooks (a cane with a razor hook) being used on the elephants, to see the tigers being whipped and their tails being pulled, and seeing multiple whip scars on the camel they featured.

As the motto was last year and will be for this year, we want to be able to teach our children and grandchildren that "E" stands for "Elephant" not "Extinction". Few know that ELEPHANTS AND TIGERS ARE ENDANGERED SPECIES. By helping support the ban of animal circuses you are directly STANDING UP FOR THEIR FREEDOM. Everyday there are protests, laws being enforced, and circuses being shut down. With YOUR support we can be a Voice for the animals who suffer!

Our main objective here is to make it known to the people who organized the circus to come to town, that we simply do not support animal cruelty and do not wish for any circuses with animal performers to come back to North Iowa. We believe there are healthier and more productive alternatives for entertainment for our community!! We are NOT saying we do not support the human entertainment in The George Carden Circus, we just think they could do much better for their animals or they should not have them at all.
